ESTO / AIST Sensor Web PI Meetings

The NASA Earth Science Technology Office hosted a series of meetings for the principal investigators for the Advanced Information Systems Technology program on Sensor Webs. The purpose was to initiate progress toward the NASA research announcement goals regarding evolution of sensor web concepts and architectures, and eventual infusion into the Earth science missions and operations. The meetings also serve to enable collaboration among the project teams members. This web site provides access to public information about the meeting and the AIST projects in the form of abstracts and quad charts.

Sensor Web position papers provide the perspectives of the project going into the initial meeting in 2007 which focused on the definition, features and benefits of sensor webs.

Defining ‘use cases’ for sensor webs within the context of the 2007 National Research Council’s Earth Science and Applications from Space: National Imperatives for the Next Decade and Beyond, i.e. the Decadal Survey, was the main focus of the second meeting in 2008.
