Tom Velez Biography:

Tom Velez is the Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Computer Technology Associates, Inc., an organization that currently provides advanced technology-based services to numerous government agencies.  In 2000, he initiated the CTA advanced Space and Intelligence Systems Division focused on the application of software agents and semantic technologies designed to enhance the ability to effectively manage large volumes of intelligence data resulting from large scale multi domain sensor networks and provide intelligent “push” support services to mobile warfighters.  CTA’s key clients in this area are the DoD and Intelligence Community. 

Tom’s background includes more than 30 years of experience in the design and development of major embedded information systems and research in computer and communications systems engineering.  During the period 1990-1997 he led the development of CTA’s Space Systems business. This CTA division developed and launched numerous small near-earth satellites, including several multi-satellite clusters, in support of military and commercial telecommunications and remote sensing missions.

Before founding CTA, Tom worked for Martin Marietta Aerospace and NASA Goddard Space Flight Center.  He holds a Ph.D. in Mathematics from Georgetown University and a J.D. from the University of Baltimore.
