AIST-21 Reference Documents
The Advanced Information Systems Technology (AIST) Program identifies, funds, develops and prototypes state-of-the-art information systems technology that respond to future Earth Science’s needs in a 5 to 10-year timeframe. It provides:
- Novel ways to acquire new measurements though new observing strategies and distributed sensing;
- Optimization of science mission value through flexible information integration;
- Agile science investigations through advanced algorithmic, computational and visualization tools, such as novel software, data analytics, artificial intelligence and relevant computing environments; and
- Integrated Earth System frameworks that will mirror the past, present and future state and temporal evolution of the Earth based on continuous integration of diverse observations, physics-based representations, and artificial intelligence and visualization methodologies to enable what-if scenarios and generate actionable information.
